The beauty of dual monitors

Fellow spuds — Alpha Spud has a confession:  Love the World Cup!

So much that it has inspired this great Couch Potato to commit funds to a second flat-screen monitor in order to play mmos on the one screen and have 3-4 open browser windows covering the 2010 World Cup.

Many people could give a rip about the World Cup, but Spud think the tournament is important in that while the sport may be dull and uninteresting (back-and-forth, back-and-forth…GOAL!), it does bring people together in a way no “I have a dream” speech could hope to match.

Just think of the countries that have in recent decades become qualifiers for the World Cup, countries that you’d might not expect have the talent.  And when people from those countries travel the many thousands of miles to go and see the World Cup in support of their team(s), it makes Spud think, “This is what globalization should be like.”
